IRS Extends Federal Income Tax Deadline Due to Coronavirus

Tax Deadline Extended

(03/20/2020) As we previously notified you, the IRS and U.S. Treasury have extended the due date for payment of balances due on your 2019 taxes and also for your first quarter 2020 estimated tax payment, to July 15th of this year.

Today the IRS extended the 2019 Federal Individual Income Tax Return filing deadline to July 15, 2020.

However,  at this time Maine has not extended the time to file your 2019 returns, nor have they extended the time for payment of your 2019 balances due or 2020 estimated taxes. We have reached out to the Maine Revenue Service, but they currently do not have any indication that they will be making a change in the filing or payment deadlines.
